Overview
Weddings are a time to celebrate a momentous commitment to unconditional love. Your wedding day is deemed as one of the greatest days of your life, with your happily ever after.
We can all agree that planning a wedding is no easy task. As you consider venues for the wedding ceremony, you may feel drawn to more exotic locations that set your nuptials apart from others.
When it comes to amazing wedding and honeymoon destinations, Kenya has got it all. Whether you want a wedding by the beach, the lakes, national parks and reserves, including the Maasai Mara, Samburu, Amboseli, Tsavo East, Lake Naivasha and Laikipia, Otu Safaris has you covered. We have hand-selected accommodation for every taste to ensure that your wedding day is peaceful and private.
Your wedding planner can also arrange complimentary safari activities after the wedding, such as game drives, village visits, hand-in-hand nature strolls, hot air balloon safaris and more, depending on your itinerary.
Legal Requirements For Safari Weddings In Kenya
Like other parts of the world, a Kenyan safari wedding requires that you follow the regulations and properly register with the authorities. You should start this process well before the ceremony; we recommend a minimum of six weeks before the wedding day.
The following documentation is required. If any document is not in English, an official translation should be attached to the original.
- Provide the Kenyan registrar with full names, address, religious preference and occupation of the bride and groom.
- Certified copies of valid passports, proof of name changes by deed poll, birth certificates and divorce decree(s) if the bride or groom were previously married.
- Written confirmation from a legal organization, such as a church or civil registrar in the home country, verifying that neither the bride nor groom is currently married.
- Written parental consent of marriage for those under 18 years of age.
Additionally, we will send a formal written letter to the registrar requesting them to officiate the ceremony one week before the wedding date. The bride and groom must sign the letter and arrive at least five working days prior to the wedding date.
We also recommend selecting safari destinations and accommodation in Kenya that are well appointed for safari weddings, so that planning can be done properly within your budget.
